Larry Anderson, Material Operations Coordinator, has 20 years of experience as a machinist. Before Larry joined CRA, he worked for Tool-Flo Manufacturing for 12 years and High Tech Tools for eight years. In that capacity, he programmed, set up and operated vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC lathes. Larry studied Engineer Design Graphics and Computer Aided Drafting with Micro Stations at San Jacinto College.

 

Megan Bates, Sales Administrative Assistant/Logistics Coordinator, joined CRA in September 2006. She attended Carson Newman College from 2003 to 2006 on a softball scholarship with a major in Exercise Science. She is now completing her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Houston with a minor in business.

 

Mike Bridges, Mechanical Tubing and Bar Manager, joined CRA in September 2009. He received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Agriculture Economics from Prairie View A&M and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M. He has more than 17 years of experience in the metal distribution industry, dealing primarily with sales, marketing, customer stocking programs and product development.

 

Chris Casey, Account Manager, joined CRA in August 2003. Before joining CRA, Chris was an account manager at Hamilton Metals where he worked for three years managing several key accounts. He also worked at Hunting for six years handling sales of threading and completion equipment accessories while managing several accounts.

 

Wanda Godfrey, OCTG Operations Manager, joined CRA inJanuary 2007. Wanda has over 25 years of experience in sales and inventory management of OCTG in API grades, as well as chrome and nickel alloys. She has managed accounts ranging from major end-users to small independent companies. Wanda has experience in the Gulf of Mexico, South Texas, Shale Barnett, Cortez, West Texas, Wyoming and Baker, Montana. She has worked to support many large international projects as well. She provides excellent customer satisfaction to buyers, engineers, metallurgists and vendors. 

 

Matt Jablonsky, Account Manager, joined CRA in July 2008. A graduate from Texas A&M University with a degree in Management of Information Systems, he has more than 4 years of experience as a Sales and Operations Manager for Fidelity National Title and Philip Morris USA. Matt also plays baseball with Houston Men's Baseball League and volunteers with Special Olympics of Texas as a softball coach.

 

Billy Jacobson, Account Manager, joined CRA in September 2006. Before joining CRA, Billy was an account executive at Professional Medical Insurance Services, where he brokered medical malpractice and ancillary insurance packages for doctors, hospitals and surgery centers. Billy also pitched for the Houston Astros after he graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor's of Art in American Studies and a minor in Economics.

 

Julie Jakubson, Human Resources, joined CRA in June 2007. Julie has more than 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Amoco, Unocal and Halliburton. Julie began her career with Amoco in the Property Tax Department. She then joined Amoco’s Financial Network as an economic analyst supporting various teams including the Gulf of Mexico deepwater, U.S. Onshore and the Venezuela teams. In 1999, Julie joined Halliburton where she held various positions in consulting, business development and operations. Julie earned a bachelor's degree in Economics and an MBA-Finance from the University of Houston.

 

Vanessa Kana, Controller, joined CRA in June 2007 with seven years of accounting experience.  She started her career in public accounting in the tax department at Melton & Melton, LLP. She then moved to industry where she was a senior accountant for Tenaris Global Services USA Corp., a steel distributor. When Tenaris split their flat steel and pipe divisions, Vanessa joined the new company, Ternium International USA Corp., as controller. Vanessa is a CPA and a 2000 graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degree. She also graduated from the University of Houston, where she earned her Master in the Science of Accountancy degree. 

 

Dave Kovar, Operations Manager, joined CRA in March 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Louisiana Tech University. He has more than 25 years of experience with steel products for the oil and gas industry, and more than 15 years of experience in quality assurance. In addition to his role at CRA, Dave is also an avid photographer and bicyclist.

 

Cole Patchell, Account Manager, joined CRA in December 2008. He is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics and Entrepreneurship. Cole has over 16 months of international experience working with J. Ray McDermott project management teams in Baku, Azerbaijan and Dubai, U.A.E. on subcontracts and project finance. In addition, he frequently competes in both bay and offshore fishing tournaments all along the Gulf Coast.

 

John Patchell, President, Founded CRA in December 2001. Since its inception, John has steered CRA's constant innovation in nickel-based corrosion resistant alloys. Prior to founding CRA, John gained 30 years of experience in distribution to the oil gas industry, the most influential of which were the 15 years he spent building another leading industry distributor

John had the vision to see the impact that the oil and gas industry’s shift to higher risk and more complex critical gas wells would have on the limited supply of corrosion-resistant materials. He responded by forming his own company, building a global inventory of corrosion resistant material, and supplying the material to both service companies and end-users, including independents, majors and National Oil Companies. In the seven short years since John founded CRA, it has grown to become the world’s leading stockist of corrosion resistant materials, with more than $120 million per year in revenue.

 

Bob Pedrick, Technical Services and Quality Control, joined CRA in May 2005. He gained more than 35 years of experience in the metals industry after his military service. Previously, he was with Special Metals Corporation, Haynes International and several other leading specialty metals producers with an emphasis on sales, technical marketing and distribution/processing. He is a graduate of Drexel University and the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration degrees, respectively. His studies focused on marketing, planning and metallurgy/corrosion.

 

Matt Pond, Vice President - Business Development, joined CRA in July 2007. Most recently, Matt was a principal with Spruce Realty Group, a real estate development company focused on acquisition, renovation and construction of affordable, multi-family assets. In addition to his role at Spruce, Matt is a Director of National Homes Trust, a national non-profit housing and social service organization. Prior to his roles in real estate development, Matt oversaw Alliance Management for a Houston-based metals supplier to the oil and gas manufacturing industry. Matt is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

 

Jim Rogge, Material Operations Manager, joined CRA in November 2005 and has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. A graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering degree, he has worked for major oil companies as an operations engineer, sales engineer and regional manager.

 

Jerry Rubli, Senior Sales Engineer, joined CRA in November 2009. He has over 35 years experience in the oil and gas industry introducing and promoting technical products and services at Hydril Company, H.O. Mohr Research and Engineering, RTI International Metals and most recently VAM USA.

He has written technical articles about downhole production equipment, the use of titanium in upstream applications and authored a book about technical sales. Jerry is a registered professional engineer (Texas) and a member of ASME, SPE and AADE. He graduated from Louisiana State University with BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering

 

Kevin Ryan, Purchasing Manager, joined CRA in October 2006. Before joining CRA, he taught English (and learned Chinese in the process) for a total of four years at three universities in China. During that time, he earned Teacher of the Year honors at Henan College of Education. He did all that while completing his master's degree in intercultural studies from Wheaton College. Kevin also earned bachelor's degrees in business and economics at Wheaton, where he played on the university golf team.

 

Daniel Sewell, Inventory Coordinator, joined CRA in April 2007. Daniel brings two years of experience in machine maintenance and operation from his tenure at Carboline Premium Cutting Tools Inc. There, he worked on insert design using CAD programs like Vellum 3D. He also has two years of experience in product ordering, inventory management and overseeing shift operations in the food service industry.

 

James W. Skogsberg, Metallurgical Consultant, graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering and received his Masters of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Ohio State University. His career started in refinery materials engineering and progressed into upstream production materials with an emphasis on critical down hole completions and drilling operations. He joined Chevron Corporation in 1975 and has represented Chevron on several subcommittees in the American Petroleum Institute. After 31 years in materials engineering in oil and gas production, he retired in 2006. He has been a long-time member of NACE International and has been recognized by NACE with the President's Award, the Distinguished Service award, and gave the NACE Conference Plenary lecture in 2007.

 

Brandy van Compernolle, Purchasing Coordinator, joined CRA in February 2010. A graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management, Brandy has more than 7 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry working for El Paso Field Services, T3 Energy Services and most recently, BHP Billiton Petroleum, where she held various roles in finance and tax accounting.
