COMMON TRADE NAMES: INCONEL® Alloy C-276, Hastelloy® C-276, SMC276®
Alloy C-276 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum solid solution strengthened super-alloy with a nominal chemical composition of 57% nickel, 16% chromium, and 16% molybdenum, with additions of iron, tungsten, and cobalt. It is commonly referred to by the tradename Hastelloy® C-276 and the universal designation UNS N10276. C-276 is often used in extremely corrosive environments that other alloys cannot withstand.
C-276 is a workhorse in the chemical processing industry and is used extensively in the oil and gas industry, owing to its corrosion resistance in a wide range of aggressive substances. In upstream oil and gas, C-276 is used as tubing, casing, or liners in aggressive sour service environments characterized by high levels of H2S, CO2 , and chlorides. It is also used in other industries where harsh environments are encountered, including the pharmaceutical and paper industries. C-276 is used for valves in cryogenic service and has been used in superconductors at temperatures as low as -455°F (-271°C).
CRA offers specialty alloy C-276 seamless pipe & tube for use in multiple industries and applications, including:
