Our finishing mills will run all nickel, super duplex/ duplex, and chrome alloys.
While our manufacturing process and equipment is similar to that of other manufacturers, we manage the timeline of our operations differently than other mills to provide unique value to the market.
CRA’s finished tubes are manufactured by traditional methods. The material starts off as an ingot or continuous cast billet. It is then hot worked to achieve a sound wrought structure and converted to a hollow tube shell by hot working or trepanning. The choice of which process route to use is dependent upon several variables including quantity and the customer delivery need. The tube shells are annealed to obtain the required microstructure, cold pilgered to achieve the finish size and mechanical properties, straightened, non-destructive/destructive/visual testing, and then final cutting/inspection/marking.
Quality is in our DNA. We have a 98% customer quality rating. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified and currently the only USA mill with an API 5CRA license. The license extends to all API 5CRA products from groups 2, 3, and 4 meeting PSL 1 and 2 requirements. We are also able to accommodate any key 3rd party inspection points or customer QA/QC requirements. In addition, our technical and quality groups are actively involved in several API and NACE subcommittees.
Our manufacturing processes have a long history of quality, our facilities are growing, and our capabilities are expanding.
Our model may be simple but it can provide huge value.
