Accommodating Non-Standard Mill Quantities Cuts Cost for DoD Project

A customer approached us with a need for 60’ of large OD, specialty alloy 625 seamless pipe to be used in a marine application for the Department of Defense. With standard mills and distribution sources requiring minimum order quantities, the customer faced being forced into over purchasing to acquire the material they needed, ultimately driving up their cost. CRA was able to accommodate the non-standard mill quantity, providing the 60’ of pipe at an overall better value for the customer.

For the Department of Defense, war-time readiness is critical, and that means having access to the right material on the right timeline. CRA’s just-in-time manufacturing model is designed to eliminate the inefficiencies of standard mill requirements for cra seamless pipe in all industries by providing customers with the capability to order what they need when they need it.
