With project materials due to the OEM in less than 1 week, the operator was missing a small quantity of 7-5/8” 29.70# 13CR-80 needed for an offshore well in the Gulf of Mexico. With limited options from traditional pipe manufacturers and scarce market supply, they reached out to CRA for help.
After consulting with our technical and operations teams, CRA came back with two solutions for the operator to consider. Option 1: CRA Finished Tubes could manufacture the requested material to their specifications offering a delivery time of 5 – 7 days. Option 2: CRA’s affiliate PipeSearch could provide immediate access to an alternative higher-strength alloy, 7-5/8” 29.70 G3. Within 15 minutes of sending the operator the quotes, the second option of upgraded material was approved. The time between quote approval and material release was less than 24 hours!
